MOTOR ACCIDENT AT
GREAT CLIFTON.

   A serious motor accident occurred at Great Clifton  on Saturday evening
to Mr. W. MAWSON, of Ullock. It appears that Mr. MAWSON was  making the journey
to Workington about 7 p.m. on his motor cycle.

   Jack RIGG, of Cleator, as popular a prize fighter  as ever wore the
gloves, lost on points to a young, but cleverer opponent, Jim  McCOURT, of Glasgow,
at the Workington Drill Hall on Friday night.
