   The Guild Festival in connection with the  Workington South William
Street Wesleyan Church was held on Sunday and Monday.  The special preacher was the
Rev. Will SAWKINS, of the central Hall, Carlisle.

   At the celebration of the seventh birthday of this  Institute, 25 members
of the Rosley W. I. were the guests of the evening, and  Mr. G. SCOTT,
Wigton, was the lecturer.

WOMAN'S INSTITUTE
BOULTON.

   Miss. KESWICK, Eskrigg, presided at the monthly  meeting at which twenty
members were present. A lecture was given by Dr. Mabel  BARKER, Caldbeck, on
"The Middle Ages - castle and abbey, villages, markets and  forests." She was
accorded a hearty vote of thanks on the motion of Mrs. WILSON,

Westward Womens Institute

WESTWARD WOMAN;S INSTITUTE.

   At the March meeting each member had the privilege  of inviting a friend.
The president introduced Miss. PETTY of London ("the  Pudding Lady), who gave
a demonstration on cookery.
