The Government have sent down a special Commissioner to report upon the working of the Cheshire Dairy Institute at Worleston. COLONEL HUMBERTSON, MR. BARBOUR, Bolesworth Castle, and other gentlemen met the Government representative at the institute, and practically tested its working and the method of imparting dairy instruction. It is regarded as highly probable that Cheshire will be chosen as the centre of the norther agricultural districts.
In the Court of Sessions, Edinburgh on Tuesday, LORD KINNEAR heard evidence in an action for divorce by JOHN FERRIES, Aberdeen, bookseller, against his wife, MARIAN. There were no fewer than eight co-respondents, including an estate manager, a sheriff's officer, a law clerk, a medical student, and an attendant at a lunatic asylum. From each L 100 damages are claimed. It was alleged that after marriage, the wife, who was 18 years younger than the husband contracted drinking habits, and used a house apart, where she misconducted herself.
