On Sunday afternoon the remains of the late Mr. Thomas KIRKBRIDE,
landlord of the Globe Hotel, Hensingham, who was drowned in Quarry Pond, Overend, on Thursday, were interred at Hensingham Cemetery.

       The service was conducted by Rev. W. H. WILKINSON. Mr. KIRKBRIDE
having resided in the District for the greater part of his life, was well known and highly respected, as was shown by the large concourse of persons gathered together to pay their last tribute of respect. Several wreaths were sent by relatives and friends.

       Deceased leaves a wife and a grown-up family. Mr. Alfred SELBY,
undertaker, had charge of the arrangements.
