RESIGNATION OF A TEACHER.
A letter was read from Miss. M. E. STAINTON, a teacher at the Arlecdon
Mixed School, resigning her appointment, as she had entered into an
engagement in Yorkshire at a much higher salary than at her present one. It was agreed to accept the resignation.
The question of the filling up of the vacancy was referred to Arlecdon
Visiting Committee to report at the next meeting.
TO PUPIL TEACHERS.
A resolution was adopted to the effect that pupil teachers should be
informed that their engagement with the Board is strictly in accordance with
the letter of their indentures, and the members of the Board do not bind
themselves to retain the services of any pupil teacher after the completion of their apprenticeship.
The Clerk submitted his financial estimate for the current year, which
showed that a School Board rate of 10 1/2 d in the £ would be required.
The Clerk was instructed to advise the overseers that precepts would
be issued accordingly.
