    DUMFRIES SHIRE AND STEWARTRY OF KIRKCUDBRIGHT AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY. -- We were delighted to be present, on Tuesday last, when Messrs. M'KINGHT, of Barloehan, and CARRUTHERS, CHARLESFIELD, the judges appointed by this Society,inspected the several farms entered for the premiums awarded for the best management. Mr. LAURIE, Terreglestown, has been found entitled to the first premium, for his management of the farms of Riggfoot and Auchencrieff, belonging to the Right Honorable Sir ALEXANDER JOHNSTON, of Carnsalloch; and Mr. ROBERT SMITH, Ladyland, the second premium, for his management of the farm of Dinning, belonging to Sir CHARLES MONTEATH of Closeburn. The premiums were awarded with difficulty, and the management of all the farms entered was much commended by the judges and others present. -- Herald.
