DEATH OF A WHITEHAVEN RESIDENT. -  There passed peacefully away, at her residence, 48, Duke-street, Whitehaven, on Thursday night, one of the oldest residents of Whitehaven, in the person of MRS. MARY MURPHY, widow of the late CAPTAIN WILLIAM MURPHY.
    Deceased, who had lived at Whitehaven all her life, was in her 89th year, and was the niece of the late MR. WILLIAM YEOWART, builder.  Her husband, who died 27 years ago, was for many years master of the "Elizabeth Conway".
    Deceased had been in failing health for some time, but had only been seriously ill for about a fortnight from influenza and bronchitits.  DR. ABLETT rendered medical assistance, but deceased died as stated. 
    She leaves a family of four daughters and one son, all of whom are married.  The interment took place on Tuesday.
