Cockermouth, Keswick, and Penrith. - (Traffic returns for the week
ending April 22nd, 1899).
Number of passengers, ordinary , 2,911. Receipts for passengers,
ordinary, £187 4s 6d.
Number of passengers, excursion, 752. Receipts for passengers,
excursion, £30 9s 9d.
Receipts for parcels, horses, carriages &c., £33 6s 3d.; goods and
cattle, £255 7s 1d; minerals, £402 16s 1d. Total this week, £909 3s 8d;
previously, £12,672 12s 1d. Total to this date for 16 weeks, £12,672 12s
1d. Increase this week, £80 11s 5d; increase previously, £221 19s 3d. Total
increase for 16 weeks, £302 10s 8d.

Cleator and Workington. - (Traffic returns for the week ending April 22nd,
1899.) Receipts for present week, £1,078; increase £8. Receipts from
commencement half year, £16,158; decrease £198.

Maryport and Carlisle. - The traffic for the week ending April, 22nd, 1899,
was as follows:
Number of passengers, 8,690; receipts for passengers, parcels, mails,
horses, carriages, and dogs, £562; receipts for goods, minerals, and cattle
£1,614. Total, £2,176; corresponding week last year (adjusted) £2,065; increase,
£111; 16 weeks 1899, £32,668; 16 weeks 1898 (adjusted), £31,715; increase
£953.

The Furness Railway. - The traffic for the week ending April 23rd, 1899, was

Receipts, for passengers, parcels and mails, £1,970; receipts for goods,
minerals and livestock, £8,044; total, £10,014. Corresponding week last year -
Passengers, parcels and mails, £1,864; goods, minerals and livestock, £7,491 -
total, £9,355. Aggregate for the half year, £146,534; corresponding half year,
£141,320. The receipts for the corresponding period are adjusted to the actual
figures.
