DUTY.
Noble and useful work how frequently
By many people on this earth is done.
Some only live to see the work begun,
Or it completed they may never see,
For they are called to eternity;
And other hands take up the tools they laid down,
And they, their labour o'er, receive a crown
If they have done their duty faithfully.
Some work with hands and feet and some with brian,
For all have duties, none are wholly free.
No honest work is utterly in vain.
The essence of all labour is the same,
Though different in work, and style, and name,
Tis duty still - responsible we are.
