BAND OF HOPE.
This band, after being closed for some time, on account of extensive
alterations to building has again resumed work and on Monday night a limelight
lantern entertainment was given in the school room, the subject being "Jack
the Joiner, a tale of village life," illustrated by 37 beautifully coloured
slides, after which a variety of other slides to the number of seventy were thrown
upon the screen.
The slides were provided by the Cumberland Band of Hope Union. The
connective readings were given by the secretary. Messrs. F. ROBERTS and R.
WILLIAMSON were lanternists. Master James PRATT presided at the organ. There was a
good attendance of members and friends.
