WHITEHAVEN DISTRICT
NURSING ASSOCIATION.


       At the invitation of the Committee of the Whitehaven District Nursing
Association, a subscription Dance was held in Oddfellows Hall, Whitehaven,
last Friday evening. The object was in aid of the funds of the Association which
is one in affiliation with the Queen's Victoria Jubilee Institute, and employs
two Queen's nurses in the town.

       The dance was under the patronage of the Countess of Lonsdale, the
president of the Association. The guests were received by Mr. J. DAVIS (vice
president of the Association) and Mrs. DAVIS. In addition to a large number of 
acceptances, donations were received in aid of the funds from:

BATTY. A dancing floor was specially prepared by the kindness of Mr. J. Arthur
JACKSON. The hall was decorated with plants, flowers, &c., kindly lent by Mr. A.
HELDER, M. P., Mr. J. G. DEES, Mr. SNELUS, Mrs. SPITTALL, Mrs. T. BROWN,
Miss. M'GOWAN, Mr. W. J. ARMSTRONG, Mr. A. BAIN, Mrs. J. Arthur JACKSON.

       The arrangements had been carried out by Miss. MUNCASTER, hon.
secretary of the Whitehaven District Nursing Association, assisted by Miss. I. C.
BROWN, Mr. J. Arthur JACKSON, and other stewards.
