ST. BEES BRITISH LEGION.
On Friday evening the members held a domino competition for which there
were 34 entries. Result: 1. Mr. W. NORMAN; 2. Mr. H. LOGAN

SEATON DEATH.
Seaton and District learned with regret of the death of Mrs. Jos.
FAWKES, Witch Close, which took place on Sunday at Carlisle Infirmary. The deceased
young woman was of a cheerful disposition and had many friends in the
village. Much sympathy is felt for the husband, parents and brothers in their
bereavement. The interment takes place to-day, Wednesday at Hensingham.

SILLOTH WESLEY GUILD.
There was a large attendance at a Guild festival held in the Wesleyan
Church on Friday evening, when a dramatic expository lecture, entitled "The
world's best story," was given by the Rev. Will SHAWKINS, Carlisle. The Rev. G.
H. PICKERING, Silloth, presided. Mr. SHAWKINS received a cordial vote of
thanks at the close. A collection was taken for the Guild funds. Afterwards about
90 sat down to supper in the school-room.

COCKERMOUTH ST. JOSEPH'S EFFORT.
On behalf of the funds of St. Joseph's R. C. Church, Cockermouth, a
successful drive and dance was held on Friday night, when 94 played whist and 85
attended the dance. Miss. MOONEY graciously presented the whist prizes to:
