The anniversary sermons in connection with the Workington Auxiliary of the London Missionary Society were celebrated on Sunday, by sermons being preached, in the Congregational Church, South William Street, in the morning by the REV. W. T. WILKINS, missionary from Calcutta, and in the evening by the REV. W. ARCHER, of Cockermouth.  In the afternoon, MR. WILKINS gave an interesting address to the scholars, teachers and friends.

On Wednesday evening, a missionary meeting was held in the Church, presided over by MR. JOHN MORDY.  MR. WILKINS gave an interesting and instructive lecture on "Mission Work in India".

After each service and at the meeting, collections were taken in aid of the Society's funds.
