IRELAND - THE REPEAL AGITATION

With the exception of speeches at the Conciliation Hall, characterized by
the usual ruffian coarseness of O'Connell, and the habitual violence of his
colleagues, the Repeal Agitation is at present suspended.  The leaders feel
that it is necessary to do something, but they don't very well know what-and
the people are waiting the decision of the leaders with some impatience.
The Clontarf meeting has been abandoned, and it is said the 'Liberator's'
Beagles are in training at Derrynane, to which place he is about to retire
to concoct his plans.
