______
SITE OF NEW MILK FACTORY
Yesterday, Tuesday Mr. A. E. SUTOR, Clerk to the Cockermouth Urban
District Council, received the following letter from Mr. L. MILLS, manager of the
Fresh Milk Department of the Nestle and Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Co. London with respect to a suggestion by the council that the Company should
concentrate upon obtaining a site in the Urban District in view of the low rate and
cheap water: -
"We are both obliged by your letter of the 19th inst., regarding our new
building in Cumberland.
"We have now, however, decided on a site at Bridgefoot, and it is hoped
to get the plans passed at an early date and immediately commence building
operations.
"We believe our representatives have seen the site you mention at
Brigham, but from what we can gather the site at Bridgefoot is more suitable to our
requirements. We nevertheless thank you for the information given."
