The Queen has granted a new charter to this body, under the title of “The Royal College of Surgeons of England,” by which a new body is created in the college - viz., fellows to consist of those who practice surgery alone.
Members will be admitted into the fellowship by examination, but not until the age of twenty-five, instead of twenty-one, at which age members are at present admitted. The council to be elected by the fellows from such of their own body who do not practice midwifery or pharmacy, and will retain their places in the council only for a limited time.
The examiners will be elected by the council from the fellows. The order of members will remain as heretofore.
