On Wednesday evening a sale of property by auction took place in  the Saving
Bank’s large room. Mr. William BROWN was the auctioneer.

The property consisted of two shops in Wilson Street, Workington, and  a
shop and dwelling house in the same street, also two dwelling houses in
Henry-street, Workington, with the gardens behind the same.

The shop and dwelling house were only sold, and they were purchased  by Mr.
COWAN, of Whitehaven, for £1,205.

At the conclusion of the above sale, Mr. CASTIGLIONI, auctioneer,  offered
for sale some property belonging to Mr. E. DOBSON, but the reserve price  was
not reached, and the property was withdrawn. Mr. PAISLEY had the carriage of
both sales.
