The mail-bag, containing the great bulk of the London newspapers for this part
of Cumberland and the West of Scotland, was lost, on Tuesday night, between
Leeds and Carlisle, and has not since been heard of. It was very large, and the
guard strapped it to the top of the vehicle; but when or how it fell off, he
knows not. It is probable that some silly person holds it in hope of seeing a
reward offered. - Carlisle Patriot.
