CARLISLE, Dec. 1. - In consequence of a violent hurricane of wind and rain which
came on upon Stainmore on Monday morning, the London mail was so much retarded,
that it did not arrive hear till after twelve o'clock. With the greatest
exertion, six hours were consumed in performing 19 miles!
