MESSRS WARD AND CO.'S NEW CONTRACTS. -- We understand that No. 3 contract for the extension of the Glasgow Central Station, running from Eglinton Street under the Union Railway and down to the Clyde, has been entrusted to Messrs WARD and Co. The work is of a very difficult character, similar to that which the firm are so ably carrying out in this city, and will embrace a good deal of masonry and ironwork, several streets requiring to be lowered and altered. The contract for the construction of the Cleator and Workington line of railway has also been secured by Messrs WARD and Co., who will commence operations on an early day. We understand the amount of the contracts is considerably over £100,000 each.
