THE LIVING OF ST. MARY'S, CARLISLE. -- We understand that this living, which is in the gift of the Dean and Chapter, has been taken by Canon PRESCOTT; but as his diocesan and other work would prevent him discharging the duties alone, he has secured the services of two efficient assistants.  The Rev J. HUDSON, of Troutbeck, Windermere, has resigned his charge in order to become senior curate of St. Mary's.  Mr. HUDSON has the reputation of being a hard-working, devoted clergyman; and it is expected that he and his junior, being to some extent relieved of pulpit and organising work by the Vicar, will be able to apply themselves adequately to the general affairs of the parish, which has a population of about 4000 people.
