BROUGHTON-IN-FURNESS NEWS

On Thrusday afternoon a very successful sale of work and garden party was held at Broom Hill, through the kindness of the Rev. H. C. And Mrs. BLAGDEN.
The proceeds were in aid of the Archbishop’s Missionary Fund. The stalls were arranged on the lawn and were presided over by: -

The Girl’s Friendly stall was in charge of Misses. G. FLEMING

Tea was provided in the rose garden and the following ladies assisted: -

A brisk trade was done on the contents and the contents of the stalls were soon cleared.

DEATH OF MR. ASHCROFT.

The death of Mr. ASHCROFT too place at his residence, The Square, on Thursday. He has been in moderate health for some time. He was well known throughout the district, and thoroughly respected. The interment took place on Saturday.
