Lord LONSDALE’s recently acquired shooting box at Broomrigg, Ainstable, built a quarter of a century ago for the late Major PARKIN, has been greatly improved this summer.
Water has been laid on; shrubs and rose trees have been planted in the grounds, which are now enclosed with a hedge of holly; a bathroom has been added, the electric light put in, and the dining room on the first floor is now served with food from the chef’s kitchen. Every room is furnished with oak furniture.
The lodge will be ready for use by the 1st September.
