Sir, - Some months since you were good enough to allow more than one correspondent to protest against the cost of this work, and now the factory-like chimney stack can be seen towering above the buildings, and the other parts of the scheme approach completion, it may be apparent to some of the House Committee what an unnecessary expensive scheme is being carried out, and how great will be the cost of upkeep. For the present it is sufficient to point out that all requirements of the House would have been met by the erection of apparati not requiring the building of the chimney stack.. - Yours &c.,
