WHITEHAVEN CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH P.S.A.
The weekly meeting of this Brotherhood was held in the Congregational Church, on Sunday afternoon. Prayer was offered by the Chairman, the Rev. A. O. LOCHORE, and Mr. W. E. MASON read a portion of Scripture. A solo, “Rock of Ages” was nicely sung by Mrs. LOWREY. Short addresses were delivered by the Chairman, and Mr. M’GONIGLE, the latter’s subject being, “The Way of Life.”

THE AUTUMN ASSIZES.
Mr. Arthur SHUTTLEWORTH, Judge’s Associate, has issued his circular respecting the Northern Circuit Assizes. The Commissions will be opened at Carlisle on Monday, November 3rd; at Lancaster on Wednesday, November 5th; at Manchester, on Monday November 10th; at Liverpool on Thursday, November 27th. Business will commence on the day next after the Commission day at 11 a.m. There will be no civil business at Carlisle or Lancaster.
