HARRINGTON
PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
_____
Anniversary services in connection with the above church were held on Sunday and Monday last. The Rev. James GAILEY, of Annan, preached morning and evening to large and appreciative congregations.
On Monday the annual tea meeting was held in the Temperance Institute, when a numerous company sat down to tea. After tea a public meeting was held in the church, which ably presided over by Mr. James R. BAIN. The preliminaries over, the Rev. J. GAILY delivered his popular lecture on the subject announced: - "A Day in Cairo." The lecture was one replete with instruction, interspersed with passages characterised by literary beauty of a high order, and justifying the Chairman's remarks that the audience had been furnished with a rich intellectual treat.
The tea tables were presided over by the following ladies: -
Mesdames BONNER
SIMPSON
CARLYLE, Greenbank
CARLYLE, Rosehill
M'LARTY
SANDERSON
PATERSON
MONCUR
CUNNINGHAM
The services were all largely attended and the collections liberal, and afforded evidence of the healthy and vigorous state of the church.
